So yeah. We do.

Here it is. Mostly for the purposes of having a place to put all of the art we produce for the rounds, and just because tumblr is seriously lacking in the homestuck fandom contributions. Seriously, it's like there are no homestucks on tumblr. What's up with that?

Guess what, folks? We blinked, and Bonus Round 1 started without us even noticing!! Do I seem excited to you? Do I???!!? Well I should because IT'S A GENRE BENDING GIFTART ROUND, FOLKS!

That's right! Two genres, one ship (that's not ours), one piece! Does it tickle your fancy quite as much as mine?

Like with BR0, our BR1 submissions cannot be posted via official means, so once you've gotten yourselves some nice and shiny genre-spliced art, get ahold of meticulousTactician so she can do her palhoncholy duty and mail it with love to the designated team. Keep in mind, folks, this is another great opportunity to show some love to the other ships, and maybe garner a little attention for our team! So choose your ships wisely! I would certainly advise showing some more love to

hso_meowrail_moorail and

blue_smuppets, since they have both been very gracious acceptors of our stuff in the last round.

Whatever you choose to do, better do it fast! According to the schedule (if I've read the old one, done the math right, and got all of my intel divined accurately from the penis ouija, holy shit that shift makes life confusing), we will need to have all of our gifts SENT by the June 23rd deadline. That's 11:59PM EST on the 22nd, to be really ultra specific about it. Same as the deadline for Main Round 1. And that's SENT, mind you, so don't try to squeak one in under the wire, only to find out our palhoncho decided to bugger off for a snack just before midnight. Plan ahead, cherry vigilantes!

Okay, so first-- guys I know we have a Skype chat but I really would appreciate it if you would make a note of your ideas/concerns on the comm. It helps keep a record of our progress that won't get lost in the less urgent backlogs of fic recommendations and reaction gif wars ~~which were totally awesome and you are all totally awesome btw~~. If I were not such an obsessive backlog reader, I may have missed the first conversation about independent round submissions.

Which leads to our second point. Because our Team is under the recommended size "minimum" for HSO, and because we are not an official HSO team, not to mention half our number are currently in the middle of classes, there was discussion about making all of our round entries collaborative to keep the work pressure as low as possible. The official HSO rules say that one or two members will sign up to individually produce a round submission and then the palhoncho (me) would choose one of the submissions to present as their official team entry into the round; again, there was some concern about that due to our small team size. We initially were leaning toward collaboration every round. However, it has come to my attention that some of you would actually prefer to do individual submission pieces. The concern seems to stem mostly from a) a bad experience with group projects at school, and b) concern over access to nontraditional artist equipment in later rounds.

I've decided that as long as a team-member notifies me through dreamwidth PM or through a personal skype message no more than 4 days after the new Round prompt has been announced, they may opt to do a piece by themselves. I will however expect regular check-ins to make sure you will be able to complete your piece by the deadline. You may also be asked to participate in a hypothetical group submission as well, although in a much, much smaller capacity than normal to limit your workload. Please remember that your other teammates are here to help you, if you do not have enough time to complete the writing/lineart/coloring/whatever for your individual submission. Considering the challenge we've all opted to rise to, without much support and without any official recognition, there is no shame in asking for help in order to complete a piece.

It was a little hard (considering there are a grand total of four of us cherry vigilantes, and we decided to join in the fun just this week), but we have managed to scrape together a few gifts of fandom joy to spread around to some of the teams! Again, we are NOT officially affiliated with the HSO, so none of these banners or icons count for points, nor will you find them on the official boards, because that would confuse the hell out of the poor mods while they're scoring. Instead, our lovely Palhoncho meticulousTactician has been sending these off to the Palhonchos of the corresponding teams personally.

"Team Cherry Vigilantism" is an unofficially unofficial team for the Homestuck Shipping Olympics 2012,

hs_olympics, a friendly competition which promotes the creation of Homestuck pairing fan-content. They are great guys and we 100% support what they do. Seriously they are awesome.

Unfortunately, the 1500-user cap means that not everyone can participate. It also means that not every pairing for every quadrant can be represented in the olympics (but seriously do you know how many possible pairings there are in Homestuck? They never could be). Team Cherry Vigilantism wishes to join the teams of the HSO in spirit if not in reality by "participating" in the HSO challenges out of the official running for the team of Dave<>Terezi, which was one of the teams that unfortunately did not make the official HSO cut.

Once again we are not official participants in the HSO, we just appreciate what they do and wish to follow their example by promoting fan-friendship across ships and contributions to the fandom.
